A representative of the Primm family said Thursday that an announcement is likely within a week about whether a new partner will take over the hotels, casinos and other assets in the small community on the California-Nevada border, south of Las Vegas.
Cory Clemetson, president of Primm’s landowner Primm South and grandson of Primm’s founder Ernie Primm, said several potential partners have submitted proposals to operate the resorts and other amenities that are the first places they see when passing into Nevada from Southern California.
Clemetson did not disclose the names of potential new partners, but added that they are familiar names with a record of success in the state.
“We met with them very early in the process, behind the scenes and out of the public eye, and we’ve had several meetings with really what many would consider the top tier, you know, longtime successful Nevada hotel-casino operators,” Clemetson said. “We’ve had some really good discussions and I don’t want to guarantee it, but hopefully in a week or less, and maybe in the next few days, we’ll have an announcement about a group that I think people will be very excited to hear. It’s going to be a very legitimate group that’s done very well here for a long time.”
