Three decades after bursting onto the global stage with a cry of friendship, fun and Girl Power, The Spice Girls celebrating the 30th anniversary of their breakthrough hit “Wannabe” with a special collectible Tiny Vinyl release.
Pressed on Cobalt Transparent vinyl, the limited edition record (available to pre-order now) will feature the global sensation single plus its original b-side, “Bumper to Bumper”.
Tiny Vinyl is a new pocket-sized record format designed for collectors and music fans alike. Each miniature record has one track per side and is compatible with most manual record players. However, playback may be limited on some automatic turntables, particularly models with non-adjustable autostop features or tonearms that cannot track close enough to the center of the disc.
Originally released in 1996, “Wannabe” transformed the five-fold – Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Buntonand Back Halliwell – from aspiring pop stars to a worldwide phenomenon. The single topped charts worldwide, became the best-selling song by a girl group in history, and helped define the sound and attitude of late ’90s pop culture.
