Cult fan favorite musical Ride the Cyclone returns to London’s Southwark Playhouse Elephant this summer for a limited run.
The production had its UK premiere at the venue last November, and will now return for a new run between 19 June – 22 August 2026. Priority tickets go on sale at 11.00 tomorrow (Tuesday 17 March). General sale is at 11:00 on Wednesday, March 18. Casting for the new edition will be announced in due course.
Written by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell, Ride the Cyclone follows six teenagers who are killed in a crazy roller coaster ride. Trapped in limbo, they are offered another chance at life, so one by one they must convince an enigmatic figure that they are the ones most deserving of a second chance.
The show will be produced by Kevin McCollum, Morris Berchard and Jack Maple. Of the return, they said: “We couldn’t be more excited to bring Ride the Cyclone back for another ride. We were delighted to sell out our first run and are delighted to be returning to Southwark in 2026 to give those who missed out on tickets the first time a chance to ride the Cyclone.”
The production will be directed and choreographed by Lizzi Gee, with musical direction by Ben McQuigg. Additional creative credits include: set and costume design by Ryan Dawson Laight, lighting design by Tim Deiling, video design by Nina Dunn for PixelLux, sound design by Tom Marshall, and casting by Harry Blumenau. Production management is by Toby P Darvill for Production Solutions Group, with general management by Jack Maple Productions.
