The Los Angeles-based melodic techno artist released his new single ‘Lucid Dream’ on May 20, 2026, and the response was immediate. Within 24 hours, the track had landed at number 47 on Beatport’s Techno Peak Time / Driving Top 100, a genuinely impressive feat for an independent, self-produced release that goes up against some of the most established names in electronic music.
But the chart position, as exciting as it is, almost understates what “Lucid Dream” actually is. MOON wrote and produced the track entirely on his own, building it around a concept that’s both simple and hard to shake: the feeling of being suspended between sleep and wakefulness, half here and half somewhere else entirely.
“I wanted to capture that feeling of being half here and half somewhere else” she explains. “To give people a song that they could get lost in and feel whatever they feel.”
That sense of atmosphere runs through everything MOON does. Rooted in themes of space, fantasy and transformation, her music pulls listeners between states of consciousness rather than anchoring them to a single emotion. She describes her process as instinctive: the second an idea comes, she starts building, without plans or overthinking, just the impulse to bring something to life.
It’s an approach that clearly works. With over 200,000 followers on and TikTok and a Beatport chart that arrived before most artists have even started their promo cycle, MOON is building momentum on his own terms.
She’s also refreshingly clear about what she hopes her music actually does for people.
“I hope my music gives people permission to feel whatever they feel and to be whoever they want to be,” she says. “My biggest hope is that it gives people the courage to be themselves and to find happiness in that.”
For a genre that can sometimes feel more focused on the technical than the emotional, that sort of intention stands out. ‘Lucid Dream’ is the sound of an artist who knows exactly what she wants to say and has found a way to say it without words.
