A Las Vegas food court operator has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, with documents showing it owes more than $1 million to a Strip casino.
Feel Good Brands LLC, which operates food courts at Circus Circus, Excalibur and Treasure Island, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on April 16, according to court filings. It is the first time the company has filed for bankruptcy.
Chapter 11 of the bankruptcy code allows businesses to continue operating while restructuring their finances and creating a debt repayment plan, according to the IRS.
Feel Good Brands could not immediately be reached for comment.
The court filings show the company owes money to at least three entities: Circus Circus, the Nevada Department of Taxation and GBank. It owes Circus Circus over $1.2 million in rent, the Nevada Department of Taxation $40,700 in sales tax and GBank $8.45 million.
Feel Good Brands took over the Circus Circus Food Court in 2021 after a 53-year exclusive contract with McDonald’s. The company paid $9 million for the redevelopment and added franchises such as Krispy Kreme, Einstein Bros Bagels and Popeye’s to the casino’s food options.
