Josh Groban is heading back to the big screen – or at least the sound of it. The five-time GRAMMY Award-nominated singer has announced ‘CINEMATIC’a sweeping new studio album dedicated to songs that first came to life on film.
Groban has long been known for his rich baritone and orchestral sensibilities and has flirted with film scores throughout his career. But ‘CINEMATIC’ marks his first full-length project built entirely around the emotional tug of the canvas.
Released Friday, May 8, 2026 via Reprise RecordsThe 10-track collection will feature remastered versions of beloved film standards, including Elton Johns “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from The Lion Kingalong with other iconic soundtrack staples and guest vocals from the likes of Jennifer Hudsonthe Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angelesand the singers own father Jack Groban.
Produced by Greg Wells (Wicked, The Greatest Showman, Dua Lipa, Adele, Taylor Swift)and recorded in both Los Angeles and London, the LP serves as Groban’s first major album release since the 2020s ‘Harmony’a fan favorite that balanced covers with original material and showcased a more introspective side of the singer.
“There’s something incredibly powerful about how a song or a score can elevate a story and stay with you long after the credits roll,” explains Josh. “With ‘CINEMATIC’I wanted to honor that feeling – the nostalgia, the drama, the romance – while bringing my own voice and perspective to these timeless songs. Recording this album felt like stepping into some of the most iconic moments in film history, and I hope listeners are moved the way I always have been when the lights go down and the music starts.”

Just last month, Josh started his GEMS World Tour with a sold-out show in Honolulu, HI at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center Arena, before taking the tour across Asia and Oceania with stops in Taipei, Singapore, Jakarta, Manila, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.
With worldwide momentum, Groban will continue the tour later this month with performances in Dublin, London, Paris, Berlin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Amsterdam. In June, the tour continues through North America with a special guest Jennifer Hudsonincluding stops at TD Garden in Boston on June 6, Madison Square Garden in New York City on June 12 and Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on June 16. In addition, Groban will return to the Colosseum at Caesars Palace this fall for GEMS The Las Vegas Residency.
