German soccer fan Freddy has gone viral on X for his wholesome, wide-eyed observations of American culture during his trip to the US for the World Cup.
Circa owner Derek Stevens has offered to fly Freddy, whose X-handle is @FreddyLA7, and his friends to Las Vegas on Friday for a USA-Australia World Cup kit party at Stadium Swim.
“No trip to the US is legit without a trip to Las Vegas,” Stevens wrote on @DerekJStevens. “Hey @FreddyLA7 how does this sound?
“I’m sending @CircaLasVegas jet to pick you and friends up in OKC to attend our @USMNT Watch Party @stadiumswim.”

Stevens said he had not heard from Freddy as of 6pm on Monday, but was shocked by the response to his post, which attracted nearly 1.5 million views.
“I can’t believe this. This thing went crazy. This Freddy guy, the whole world wants to know about him,” Stevens told the Review-Journal. “This is definitely my biggest, craziest tweet ever. Seventeen thousand likes, 1.4 million views, 1,000 retweets. The amount of texts and DMs I got is ridiculous.
“If Freddy reaches out to me or my team, we’ll have a ball sending a limo to the private airport to pick him up. That would be a lot of fun.”
Freddy’s X followers have soared from 11,000 to more than 622,000 in less than a week as he’s shared his excitement over American staples like Taco Bell — which he called “the Holy Land” — and Waffle House, where he rated a 1 a.m. party a “10/10.”
He’s also marveled at Wendy’s, Walmart and Buc-ees during his road trip from Atlanta to Houston, where former NFL star JJ Watt treated him and his pals to a suite at the five-star Post Oak Hotel filled with food and gifts, including a Texans jersey signed by Watt.
Freddy, who obscures his face in all photos and videos with a picture of his soccer hero, Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo, then took part in Germany’s 7-1 rout of Curacao on Sunday in their opening World Cup match in Houston.
The German fan was also invited to meet country music star Ella Langley at her concert Thursday in Oklahoma City after listening to her hit “Choosin’ Texas” countless times in his rental car and declaring her his “best road trip discovery.”
In another post while in Alabama, Freddy wrote, “I love Americans.”
“We were about to walk an hour to the stadium in the rain to save on an Uber, and the receptionist at the hotel we parked in front of decided to drive us there,” he wrote above a picture of the receptionist.
The USA and Australia play at noon on Friday. There will be a free pep rally starting at 9 at the Fremont Street Experience with face painting and photo opportunities featuring a cutout of English Premier League’s AFC Bournemouth and USA Men’s National Team midfielder Tyler Adams.
A meet and greet with former AFC Bournemouth forward Steve Fletcher will take place at 10am at Circa’s Overhang Bar, located above what is billed as the world’s largest bookmaker.
Germany’s next game is against Ivory Coast at 1:00 PM PDT on Saturday in Toronto, Canada.
“Freddy hasn’t reached out to myself or our team, but we certainly got the word out that we are No. 1 to watch our World Cup games,” Stevens said. “We do every single World Cup match with full sound on Stadium Swim.”
