Indianapolis Colts released Kicker Matt Gay on Thursday.

The move clears $ 2.75 million in the CAP space for Colts, which still has Kicker Spencer Shrader on the 90-man list.

Gay, 31, signed a four-year, $ 22.5 million contract with Colts on March 17, 2023. He made 31 out of 37 field target attempts and all 33 extrapoint attempts in 16 games last season with Indianapolis.

A Super Bowl champion with Rams, Gay made 165 of 193 field target attempts and 206 of 214 pats with Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2019), Los Angeles (2020-22) and Colts. He was elected to Pro Bowl 2021.

Shrader spent time last season with Colts, New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs.
