It’s the end of an era at Westgate SuperBook, long considered one of the most respected sportsbooks in Las Vegas and one of only a handful of stand-alone books left in the city.
SuperBook will be operated by Caesars Sportsbook under a new partnership announced Tuesday between Caesars Entertainment and Westgate, pending Nevada Gaming Commission approval.
“You have two giants coming together that will bring the most up-to-date technology to the SuperBook and more betting options than we’ve ever had before,” SuperBook marketing director Jay Kornegay told the Review-Journal.
Under the partnership, the book will operate as the Westgate SuperBook, powered by Caesars Sportsbook.
With a planned transition before the football season, Caesars will oversee race and sportsbook operations and technology, expanding wagering options to include same game parlays and live in-play betting across a wide variety of professional and college sports, both in-person and on the Caesars Sportsbook app. Caesars will also introduce self-service gaming kiosks to SuperBook, known as the world’s largest racing and sports book.
“Westgate SuperBook is one of the best-known sportsbook destinations in the world, and we are proud to partner with Westgate in the next chapter of its evolution,” Eric Hession, president of Caesars Digital, said in a statement. “By powering SuperBook with our sportsbook platform, we combine a legendary sportsbook environment with a modern betting menu and added convenience that reflects how sports fans want to bet today.”
Westgate set the standard for the city’s high-stakes handicap competitions in football with the long-running SuperContest, which will remain on SuperBook.
“Since opening in 1986, our SuperBook has been a defining part of the Las Vegas sports gaming landscape,” Westgate President and General Manager Cami Christensen said in a statement. “We are incredibly proud of that legacy and proud to partner with Caesars Sportsbook to take it to the next level, combining decades of history with innovation, scale and an even more dynamic guest experience.”
SuperBook expanded to eight states outside of Nevada before ceasing operations in July 2024, closing locations in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia.
Further details on the operational transition and the introduction of the Westgate SuperBook, powered by Caesars Sportsbook, will be announced later, according to a release from Caesars.
