Australian singer/songwriter Gabriella Cilmi has returned with a brand new single “Pure Love”.
Cilmi says of the track: ““Pure Love” is about unconditional love, the kind of love that I believe we are born with and entitled to, simply because we exist. I wanted this song to feel like a self-love mantra, a prayer or a magic spell that can be played as a reminder of that.

Gabriella was 16 when she got a global record deal and a hit in 2008 with her debut single “Sweet About Me”.
Additional hits followed including “On a Mission” and her cover of Connie Francis’ “Warm in winter”. But five years later, she left the limelight, overwhelmed by the pressure of the industry and trying to be one “people”.
The idea of starting a new chapter began when she revisited a video of her full-throttle performance of “Jumping Jack Flash” from her childhood. Her partner suggested she needed to reconnect with who she was then, so that’s exactly what she did!
Speaking more about her new material, Cilmi says: ““Pure Love” is a homecoming record for me, it’s about coming home to yourself. To me this song really feels like a mantra of surrender and I wrote it as a reminder to get out of my head and back into the present. I hope it can help others do the same.”
Gabriella has returned to performing live in recent years, including a secret set showcasing her brand new music at KOKO in London and the recent War Child show alongside Jack Savoretti and Katherine Jenkins.
