The second weekend of Coachella is underway and as part of her “Sabchella” headline performance, pop princess Sabrina Carpenter was joined on stage by none other than the Queen of Pop – Madonna.
During her iconic track ‘Juno’, where Sabrina usually poses after asking ‘Have you ever tried this?’, the song cut to Madonna’s hit ‘Vogue’ instead, allowing the global superstar to make her grand entrance.
The pair performed “Vogue”, “Like a Prayer” and “Get Together”, along with a track from Madonna’s upcoming album Confessions II. She also shared her joy at being back on the Coachella stage on the 20th anniversary of her first appearance at the festival.
“So 20 years ago today I performed at Coachella,” Madonna said. “I was in the dance tent and it was my first time performing Confessions on a Dance Floor Pt. 1 in America, and it was so exciting for me, so you can imagine the thrill of being back 20 years later in the same boots, with the same corset, the jacket I was wearing before, a Gucci jacket. So it’s like a full circle moment, you know? Very meaningful to me.”

Confessions II
Earlier this week, Madonna announced that she is returning to the dance floor with the upcoming release of Confessions II, the follow-up to her career-defining record from 2005 Confessions on a dance floor.
Together with British producer Stuart Price again, the record will be a tribute to the importance of the dance floor. It is a place for freedom but also for contact with like-minded people. The pair had the following manifesto in mind when creating the album.
‘We must dance, celebrate and pray with our bodies. These are things that we have been doing for thousands of years – they are truly spiritual practices. After all, the dance floor is a ritual space. It’s a place where you connect
-with your wounds, with your fragility. Rave is an art. It’s about pushing your limits and
join a community of like-minded people.

Reshape our perceptions
Pulls us into a trance-like state.
The repetition of the bass, we not only hear it but feel it.
To change our consciousness and dissolve ego and time.‘
