If summer had heartbeat, it may sound a lot like Zara Larsson’s New single. With “Midnight sun”Swedish Pop Powerhouse returns to full force, feels euphoric, unfiltered and fully ready to own the season. Released today (June 13), the glittering electro-pop anthem starts what she calls her boldest musical chapter yet. And it’s not just a seasonal BOP – it’s a brilliant manifesto of love, freedom and staying wild under heaven that never gets dark.
The track marks the first insight into Larsson’s upcoming studio album of the same name, Midnight sunDue to September 26 via Sommer House / Epic Records. It follows April’s punchy “Pretty ugly” And signals an intimate but expansive sonic shift – danceable, but deeply known. Built on shimmering synths, icy Scandinavian-Pop-Polish and Larsson’s unthinkable vocal strength, “Midnight Sun” is the type of track that shines inside and out. It is made to chase emotions and dance to dawn.

“”Midnight sun” is made to chase feelings and dance to dawn. “
Created during the past year with a long employee MNEK, producers Margo XS and Zhone and songwriter Helena Gao, the single is Zara Larsson on her most safe, both sonically and lyrically. It was also the first song written for the album and set the emotional temperature for what is forming to be a deeply personal, emotional and creative liberated body.
“When I was thinking about this album, I thought,“ What do I want to say? What do I want this to be? “” Larsson shared in a statement. “I am really proud of my Swedish pop heritage, so I wanted to write about a Swedish summer where the sun never goes down. I wanted the whole album to feel that it is a summer night and it never ends. And it doesn’t matter if it is December: Summer night will be there for you. It is waiting for you, it will come back for you, and you will be back for it.”
With vibrant beats, light production and a hook that remains long after the first listen, “Midnight Sun” mixes emotional openness with undeniable pop crafts. In classic Zara Larsson -Hode there is no filter, no claim – only pure, irresistible energy. The song doesn’t just ask to be played loudly; It requires to be felt.
The upcoming album, which Zara Larsson describes as her most coherent so far, promises to explore all the shades of her identity: hard, flirtatious, sensitive, self-conscious and, in her words, “sometimes a little messy.”
“Knowing myself, this album is just real, really me. And also, no one can do me as I can.”

That feeling was already at full show in “Pretty Ful”, a chaotic, unpologetic banger released earlier in April. Directed by Charlotte Rutherford (Pinkpantheress, Charli XCX) and choreographed by Zoi Tatopoulos (FKA Twigs), leaned the music video to maximalism and injury; A hard prologue to what is quickly forming to be a career -defining chapter for Larsson.
To bring Midnight sun ERA TO LIFE TRACK, Zara Larsson will meet the road from August 4 in Vancouver as an opening act at Tate McRae’s Miss possession Tour. She will then the headline of Britain, North America, Europe and Australia, including a major stop at Dublin’s 3 arena on November 7. Tickets go on general sales this Friday, with detention that is already ongoing.
With “Midnight Sun” Zara Larsson not only recycles her pop crown – she carries it with clarity, conviction and a glow that refuses to fade. This is not just a comeback; It is a coronation under an endless summer sky. And if this is just the beginning, we will stop all night for what is next.
