In the wake of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne’s passing at the age of 76, interest has increased in “The Osbournes”, the groundbreaking MTV reality series that offered an unfiltered look at the domestic chaos and charm of the heavy metallic icon and his family.
Originally, from 2002 to 2005, the show is now available to stream free over multiple platforms, including Amazon Prime Video.

“The Osbournes”: A cultural milestone
Premiere on March 5, 2002, “The Osbournes” was a cultural phenomenon that broke the viewers’ record and redefined what reality TV could be. The series gave viewers a chaotic, comical and sometimes heartbreaking window into life with Ozzy Osbourne, wife and manager Sharon Osbourne and their children Kelly and Jack. At its top, the show pulled more than 6.6 million viewers and remains MTV’s most watching series to date.

Sharon Osbourne, who finally decided to end the show after his fourth season, later reflected that the series had gone away and said, “It wasn’t the real world, do you know?”

While his music, both solo and as a frontman for Black Sabbath, drew controversy for his dark themes and on stage, “The Osbournes” revealed a more domestic and humorous side for the rock star.
Despite ongoing health matters, including Parkinson’s disease and emphysema, Osbourne remained a highest figure in pop culture until his death on July 22, 2025.
