The second half of Men’s quarterfinals were wrapped on Wednesday when Jannik Sinner rolled Lorenzo Musetti in straight to continue his machine-like march through the draw, while Felix Auger-A-ALIASME struggled past Alex de Minaur for over four hours to reach his first Grand Slam final since 2021.
For the sinner, it was another reminder of the gap between itself and the rest: 91% of the first serving points won and zero service games dropped against a top-10 opponent are things of dominance.
For Felix, it was the intestines and nerves to the same extent, which saves a stock market value in the second set and patted back from 2-5 down in the fourth to make the last four.
The wines set up a semi-final on Friday which will see Sinner vs Auger-Aliassime and Djokovic vs Alcaraz.

Felix Auger-Aliassime Def. Alex de Minaur, 4-6, 7-6 (7), 7-5, 7-6 (4)

Felix Auger-Aliassime gathered past the eighth seed Alex de Minaur 4-6, 7-6 (7), 7-5, 7-6 (4) to reach the US Open Semifinal on Wednesday, his second flushing Meadow’s last-four driving.
The 25th seed saved a second-set tiebreak score and won 13/17 tiebreak score in a four-hour, 10-minute battle to make its second Grand Slam semi-finals and only since 2021.
This was a nervous match from both players, with the Minaur who always struggle to take their game to the next level on the latter stages of sludge and Felix also look pretty tight.
While I am glad it did not because it was hard tennis to watch, I’m not sure how this did not go five because ADM arrived in almost every set, had a stock exchange in the second set-cutting break and had a 5-2 lead in the fourth but could not use, and he is now 0-6 in the Grand Slam quarter.
Felix has had a pretty good tournament with some good winnings, and he fought well today, but I do not see how he can be a factor in the semi -finals.
Based on his level today I give him 6 games, and if he can match Shapovalov’s efforts against Sinner, it would be impressive.

Highlights
Jannik Sinner Def. Lorenzo Musetti, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2

Jannik Sinner dominated the 10th seed Lorenzo Musetti 6-1, 6-4, 6-2 to keep its title defense look more likely on the day.
The world no. 1 won 91% of the first serve (42/46), saved 7 out of 7 breaking points and broke five times in a two hour route.
I thought Musetti was more competitive than the results line suggests, but he never really took off, and on the big points the sinner just kept him stuck behind the baseline, where there is an upward battle.
Still doing the quarter final on its worst surface after a piss bad driving after Roland Garros is a decent performance.
Sinner is tennis gpt, and it will require a creative genius to make him mistakes here and there; Only Alcaraz is really capable of doing so.
