Los Angeles Thieves took home first place with completed week 4 matches on Sunday in the qualifying for Call of Duty League Stage 2 Major.
The thieves went 7-0 with a plus-19 MAP difference and earned 70 CDL points. Atlanta Faze (6-1, plus-11) was second for 60 points, followed by Toronto Ultra (5-2, plus-3), Carolina Royal Ravens (5-2, Plus-8) and Vancouver Surge (5-2, Plus-5), all collected 50 points.
Stage 2 Major Qualifying Round included all 12 teams, each playing seven matches through Sunday to determine sowing for the big playoffs in step 2, scheduled for Thursday to March 23 in Dallas.
Optic Texas (1-6) noted his first victory on Sunday, 3-1 over Los Angeles Guerrilla’s M8. Optic opened with a victory 250-166 at Hacienda Hardpoint and then dropped a 6-3 result on red card search and destroys before responding with victories in Hacienda Control (3-0) and Protocol Hardpoint (250-192).
The Vancouver overplace followed a similar pattern in Downing Minnesota Rokkr 3-1. The over-voltage started with a victory 250-189 at Hacienda Hardpoint, fell 6-1 in the arch search and destroys, and then won 3-1 on vault control and 250-204 at Vault Hardpoint.
Atlanta Faze held the pattern with a 3-1 victory over Cloud9 New York. Faze continued on Protocol Hardpoint (250-135), then cloud9 also drew on protocol search and destroys (6-3). Atlanta came with a 3-1 victory on Hacienda Control and a 250-240 triumph at Hacienda Hardpoint.
