The King’s Head Theater announces the bold revival of Blink

Metal Rabbit Productions will bring a bold revival of Phil Porter’s critically acclaimed play Flash to the King’s Head Theater this spring, directed by Simon Paris, director of the hit show …Serious?.

Flash is a two-hander that explores themes of seeing and being seen, updated for an age of live streams, video doorbells and online stalking. It will star Broadway World award-winning actress and playwright Abigail Thorn, who recently starred in HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon. Further casting will be announced in due course.

Sophie Berenger (Executive Producer and CEO at King’s Head Theater and Executive Producer at Metal Rabbit Productions) said of the show: “I couldn’t be more excited about this new season of work – it feels like a real landmark and an indication of the work we wanted to see on our stage when we opened the new building. “I’m also incredibly proud that the King’s Head Theater is able to start producing again, thanks in large part to our Angels of Angel production fund which enables both in-house and co-produced work to flourish. It’s particularly exciting to see members of our own team independently stepping into producing roles too, such as Zoe Weldon who produced for Lidless Theater this year and had real ambition. all right now and I can’t wait to share it all with audiences.”

Director Simon Paris said: “Ever since I first saw Blink, it has stuck with me. I love the tension the play holds, walking a tightrope between tenderly pleasant and unsettlingly creepy. As a continuation of my work as a theatre-maker, it’s the perfect piece to explore the relationship between audience and performer.
