Li’s own style was shaped by the first shock she felt when she looked at Ducournaus Palme d’or winning movie Titanic. How Ducounau’s movies hide into the genre of body horror affected her short films Peeling of and Pleasure that tickles every nerve in the body.
Peeling of Follows the trip for a woman who seeks sanctuary as her body undergoes an irreversible transformation. The film draws viewers into a visceral and captivating story about self -discovery, improved by striking images and rich symbolism. Peeling of Has officially been selected in the 2025 Garden State Film Festival, 2025 Austin Lift-off Film Festival and 2024 Chicago Horror Film Festival.
IN PleasureLi deepens the complex interaction between pain and pleasure through the perspective of a young woman who unexpectedly discovers an unusual trigger for pleasure. The film has also received critical recognition, received official choices at several festivals, including 2024 Filmquest, 2024 Wien International Film Awards and 2024 Los Angeles Film Awards.
