Originally launched in the fall of 2000, it served as a sequel to the 1997s “Spice World”, ‘Forever’ marked a bold evolution in the Spice Girls’ sound and style. The group teamed up with acclaimed American R&B producers Dark child (Whitney Houston, Destiny’s Child, Britney Spears), Jimmy Jamand Terry Lewis (Janet Jackson, Boyz II Men, Mariah Carey) to create a more polished, R&B-inspired direction. Recording sessions took them all over the world – from New York’s legendary Hit Factory to London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios.

With the No. 1 singles ‘Goodbye’, ‘Call’ and “Let Love Lead the Way”the album reached number 2 in the Official UK Albums Chart and sold over 4 million copies worldwide.

‘Forever’ marked a transition point for band members Emma Bunton, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria Beckhamall of whom already started focusing on solo projects. They would not reunite again until 2007, when they released a greatest hits album Back Halliwell back in the group.

The album marks the first Spice Girls release since 2022, when they celebrated the 25th anniversary of their album “Spice World” with new, expanded editions of the disc. The releases, curated by the group themselves, featured bonus tracks, B-sides and a number of previously unreleased live recordings from the Virgin Records archives.

To celebrate “Forever 25” the girls have shared an upscaled version of a special live performance by ‘Goodbye’film at London’s Earls Court Arena as part of their Christmas In Spiceworld Tour.
