Actress Rachel McAdams has officially joined Hollywood Boulevard’s most enduring landmark. The actor got his star on Hollywood Walk of Fame on January 20 in Los Angeles, marking a career milestone that arrives more than two decades after her breakout roles reshaped pop culture in the early 2000s.
The ceremony took place at 6922 Hollywood Boulevard, where McAdams was honored with 2,833rd star in The movie category. Amount associate awards editor Jenelle Reilly hosted the event, with comments from director Sam Raimi and actor Domhnall Gleeson, both longtime collaborators. McAdams attended with her parents, husband, family members and special guest Dylan O’Brien.
During her acceptance, Rachel McAdams spoke emotionally about her childhood in St. Thomas, Canada, and thanked her parents for supporting her ambitions long before fame felt possible. She recalled writing them a letter at age eight asking for help in realizing her dream of performing, a moment that framed the day as personal rather than ceremonial.
“They were obviously incredibly supportive. I want to freeze time for a second because you only get a few of these moments in life to thank you on a stage for everything. Everything… It’s all because of you and the love you gave us and the beautiful childhood you gave us, and because you believed in me long before I could understand how to believe in myself,” she added.
The timing of the honor also reflects a busy chapter in McAdams’ career. The event comes days before the release of Send helpa psychological thriller directed by Raimi and starring McAdams opposite O’Brien. The film opens in theaters on January 30. McAdams previously worked with Raimi on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesswhere she reprized her role as Dr. Christine Palmer in the MCU.
Gleeson, who starred with McAdams in the 2013 romantic drama About timejoined Raimi to highlight her range and consistency across genres. Since she made her Hollywood debut in The Hot Chick In 2002, McAdams has moved easily between studio films, prestige dramas and offbeat projects.
