Queen’s iconic ‘a night at the opera’ album and ‘bohemian rhapsody’ single to get lavish 50th anniversary vinyl release

British Rock Royalty Queen Marks 50 years of its landmark album in 1975 ‘One night at the opera’ -and its legendary diamond certified single ‘Bohemian rhapsody’ – With a lavish new run of vinyl release.

First was released in November 1975 by the band – with the beloved assortment of Freddie MercuryThe Brian MayThe Roger Taylorand John Deacon‘One night at the opera’ Cemented herself as the Queen’s most ambitious work and greatest success to date and topped charts in five countries including the UK.

Now, 50 years later, Landmark LP returns on October 18 in the UK (to coincide with National Album Day) and October 17 all over the world, re -published on fantastic crystal clear vinyl with gold labels.

‘Bohemian rhapsody’ -What, Britain’s single charts topped in a record-breaking nine weeks after its original edition-is set for a special release on October 31. Fans can get hold of transparent blue heavyweight 7 “and 12” vinyl editions, along with an exclusive 12 “image disc with directly to consumer and a blue cassette single.

‘One night at the opera’ Be an extremely important album for us, says band guitarist Sir Brian May. “It opened the world for us. We were at the top of our trust,” adds drummer Roger Taylor. “It felt like there was nothing we couldn’t do, and it shows that album.”

In 1975, a turning point for Queen marked. With the help of both ‘One night at the opera’ and ‘Bohemian rhapsody’The band rose to outstanding commercial and artistic heights and cemented its reputation as one of the UK’s most visionary acts. Their brilliance has received praise from artists as varied as Foo fighters and Brian Wilson of Beach boysas once called ‘Bohemian rhapsody’: “A fulfillment and a response to a teenage prayer about artistic music.”

Decades the single continues to rule the highest, often voted the greatest of the ages – most recently tops gold loss Top 300 Hall of Fame Listeners’ survey.

Recorded with the producer Roy Thomas Baker Over several studios, including the legendary Rockfield in South Wales, ‘One night at the opera’ was made during a period of recreation. Liberated from a devastating management agreement and recently signed to Elton John’s manager John ReidQueen embraced a new sense of independence. The result was an album that was expanded on the ambitious basis for ‘Queen’, ‘Queen II’and ‘Pure heart attack’ – A fear statement from a band that is unbounded by expectations or restriction.

Given the era, May says: “We really felt that we could try anything at that point. As a songwriter, we challenged each other and competed with each other in the best possible way.”

Both ‘One night at the opera’ and ‘Bohemian rhapsody’ will be released on Universal all over the world excluding us, where they will be released through Hollywood Records.
