An off-Strip casino is expanding its senior management team with the promotion of two longtime employees and the addition of a new manager, continuing a management shakeup that began last year.
The Palms hotel-casino announced Tuesday that it has promoted Laura De La Cruz to assistant general manager, promoted Crystal Robinson-Wesley to vice president of marketing and entertainment and hired Janice Fitzpatrick as vice president of finance.
The leadership changes come months after the resort named Kevin Glass as general manager. Glas stepped into the top role after serving as deputy general manager.
De La Cruz, formerly vice president of marketing, now fills the role Glass vacated when he became GM. The Las Vegas-raised executive will oversee hotel operations, IT, sales and catering, facilities, retail and food and beverage. Her background includes roles with Boyd Gaming and Harrah’s Laughlin.
Robinson-Wesley, who had led entertainment and activation at the property, will now oversee the full range of marketing, entertainment, events, digital strategy, loyalty programs and PR. Her previous experience includes positions at MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment.
Fitzpatrick joins the Palms after more than three decades in gaming finance, including senior leadership roles at several major Las Vegas resorts such as the Rio, The Venetian, Palazzo and Mirage. She most recently served as CFO at Warner Gaming.
Glass said the three executives bring “expertise, vision and passion” to the property and will help shape the next phase of the resort’s development.
“These promotions and this important addition represent an exciting moment for Palms,” he said in the release. “We are proud to recognize the achievements of these talented women and are confident they will help lead us.”
The Palms and its condo hotel tower, Palms Place, are owned by the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority, which represents the Yuhaaviatam of the San Manuel Nation. The California-based tribe purchased the property from Red Rock Resorts in 2021 for $650 million.
The Palms is one of two tribally operated casinos in Las Vegas, although it is the only one currently open. The former Mirage hotel casino will reopen in 2027 as the Hard Rock Las Vegas, along with the Guitar Hotel Las Vegas under construction, owned and operated by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
