Since debuting on Netflix last June, KPop Demon Hunters has become a cultural phenomenon, reaching more than 500 million views on Netflix. The film follows K-pop superstars HUNTR/X, who, when not selling out arenas, use their secret identities as demon hunters to protect their fans from an ever-present supernatural threat. Together, they must face their greatest enemy yet – an irresistible rival boy band, the Saja Boys, who are demons in disguise.
KPop Demon Hunters has taken over pop culture in every way imaginable, including breaking chart records. Music from the film has achieved great success worldwide, most notably the track “Golden”. The song spent ten weeks at the top of the UK singles chart, and also reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 – making HUNTR/the first debut K-pop girl group to achieve this feat. Over the weekend, the song also became the first K-pop song in history to win a Grammy Award.
