Mimi web Has released a live performance video of its new single “You don’t look at me the same”, and offers fans an intimate glimpse in one of her most vulnerable songs to date. Track, lift from her upcoming second album Confessions (Due to September 12 via Epic Records) arrive when the British singer writer continues to expand his deeply personal new era.
The stripped-back video, filmed in London and directed by Jake Erland, sets the web’s powerful song at the forefront. Together with Stark-Piano, performance highlights the emotional weight of the ballad, which traces the painful discovery of a once close relationship. Its haunting removal – “Oh, you don’t look at me the same” – Comes with aching clarity, captures the devastation of love silently fades away.
In a statement, Mimi Webb described the song as her most personal edition yet. “It is written from a child’s perspective and tells the story of two people you love who are no longer on the same page – and you slowly see them grow apart,” she explained. “Writing this was extremely therapeutic to me, and I hope it gives the same sense of comfort and understanding to everyone who listens.”
Live Performance follows the disclosure of the singles official music video, also helped by Erland, who lost earlier this week. It comes after a whirlwind stretch for web, which recently hosted its own Confessional hour On Apple Music Radio, with the platform to introduce new music and share the influence behind her upcoming record.
Confessions Written and recorded between Los Angeles and London and promises to be Mimi Webb’s most unfiltered project yet-a mix of heart damage, empowerment hymns and moments of raw self-discovery. “I decided to be brutally honest,” web said about the album. “It’s easy to pretend that everything is wonderful, but I wanted to open up and scream,” This is who I am! “.”
“You don’t look at me the same” follows her playful summer single “Language of Love,” that arrived with a heavy-in-Kind video set at a surreal dog show, and “Mind Reader,” Her previous collaboration with Meghan Trainor. Together, the tracks show the range of her upcoming albums, from introspective vulnerability to safe pop actors.
With over a billion streams, a Brit Award nomination and festival sets at Lollapalooza, governors ball and outside countries that are already behind her this year, web’s momentum continues to build. Next month she will go into Confessions Tour All over Europe and the United Kingdom, with a career milestone headline show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.
