NBA in predicting markets

The National Basketball Association has joined the Major League Baseball and the American Gaming Association to express concern about predicting markets offered by Kalshiex and Robinhood regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

A scheduled round table discussion about companies that offer prediction markets for sporting events was suddenly interrupted last week.

The NBA joined other critics of predicting markets in a letter to the Commission of Alex Roth, Vice President and Assistant General for Liga Trying and Politics.

“The privacy risks that sports pre -premises markets are more significant and more difficult to handle than those presented by legal, regulated sports games,” Roth said in a May 1 letter to the Commission.

“While exchanges and brokers operate under CFTC’s general auspices, broad -based financial monitoring does not include the type of sports -specific controls and protection that is the characteristics of state sports playing regulations.”

Courts in Nevada and New Jersey have decided against their respective game regulation bodies after the cessation and rejection orders to Kalshi who demanded that they stop operations.

Analysts say that sports preferences now represent 78 percent of Kalshi’s prediction market operations.

World Series app

Organizers of the World Series of Poker have rolled out the WSOP+ app that automates the process of registering and paying entrance fees for this year’s event, which starts May 27 and continues until July.

The app is available in iOS and Android versions on wsopplus.com.

“The benefits of bringing WSOP+ online in time for the next World Series of Poker in Las Vegas are endless,” said Jack Effel, Senior Vice President of Poker Operations and World Series of Poker at Caesar Entertainment. “Players should feel an immediate positive impact on their experience when they arrive this summer. In addition to WSOP +’s advanced features, there is no doubt that this innovation will reduce waiting times, which means that the participants can come to the blanket and enjoy the events they love.”

Caesars runs the event on his horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas properties on the strip.
