Melanie C creates a “SWEAT” on an epic new single

Melanie C turning up the heat again! The The Spice Girls star has released his brand new single ‘Sweat’ — a pulsating, sweat-inducing dance-pop song that marks the beginning of a bold new era for the British icon. The song was released on October 17 and serves as the lead single and title track from her upcoming ninth studio album, ‘Sweat’no later than 1 May 2026.

Built around a pounding bass line and a driving synth groove, ‘Sweat’ smart samples Diana Ross 1982 single “Work That Body” and finds Sporty Spice channeling the energy of the 1980s fitness craze with a modern club twist. “Sports, raving, finding joy — these elements are such a big part of my personality,” the singer said of the song via NME. “What works in the club works in the gym – there’s a real crossover.”

The track – recorded between Stockholm and Los Angeles – signals a decisive return to dance pop for the singer, whose previous self-titled 2020 album was more introspective and electronic. ‘Sweat’ instead aims straight for the dance floor and mixes throwback nostalgia with stylish, modern production that feels both timeless and refreshingly current.

The music video, released alongside the single, doubles down on that message. Directed with high gloss style by Graham Cruzit nods to the era of Flash dance and Jane Fonda training – all neon lights, leotards and sweatbands – while reintroducing Melanie to full form: confident, radiant and oblivious physically.
