Matt Cardle refuses to falter in the face of adversity on powerful new single ‘Fading Lights’

Starting 2026 with renewed energy and a new creative spark, Matt Cardle returns with his brand new single “Fading Light”the latest release from his upcoming album “The Great Escape”. Mixing heartfelt lyricism with a soaring, polished sound, the song signals a confident new chapter for the singer-songwriter, capturing both reflection and momentum as he heads into the year ahead.



Written by Matt along with the track’s producer Dan McDougall (Sam Ryder, Liam Gallagher, Bruno Majors) and Jim Eliot (Ellie Goulding, Kylie Minogue), “Fading Light” provides a powerful reminder to hold on to hope, even when life’s challenges threaten to overwhelm. Its uplifting spirit is fueled by a soaring, radio-ready hook, while dramatic percussion, shimmering synth touches and dynamic sonic shifts combine to amplify the track’s infectious energy.

Commenting on the track, Cardle says, “Having woken up to the dark reality of the system we live in, there can be no going back to sleep. Though completely powerless, “Fading Light” was a message to myself not to let the system crush my soul or kill my dreams.”
