Experimental singer/songwriter and YouTuber LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER will represent Great Britain at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria in May 2026.
The artist, born Sam Battle, first burst onto the scene in 2014 as frontman for the indie rock band ZIBRA. Since then, he has launched his flourishing solo career with his passion for electronic and synth sounds. As LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER he has played to packed houses across the UK and Europe and released a string of singles, albums and EPs.
Speaking about representing Great Britain, LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER said: “I think it’s absolutely crazy to jump on this wonderful and wild journey. I’ve always been a huge Eurovision fan and I love the magical joy it brings to millions of people every year, so to be part of that legacy and fly the flag for Great Britain is an absolute honor that I take very seriously.
“I’ve been working for a long time creating, writing and producing my own visions from scratch and documenting my process. I’ll bring every ounce of my creativity to my performances, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear and see what we’ve created. I hope Eurovision is ready to synthesize!”
LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER is a man of many talents: a singer-songwriter, live electronic artist and composer, inventor of unique music machines and self-proclaimed Eurovision fan. He is also a YouTube content creator who has amassed over 85 million views. In his videos, he showcases his unique musical inventions, using Furbies and Game Boys, synthesizer bikes, flame-throwing keyboards and a Star Wars droid orchestra.
His unparalleled achievements in synthesizers and electronics have also earned him a Guinness World Record for building the world’s largest drone synthesizer. If that wasn’t enough, the artist has given a TEDx talk discussing how he brought these inventions to life, released his own video game, and curated and opened a museum displaying his curious creations.
LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER were selected as the UK representative following an extensive search led by UK Eurovision Project Director and Music Industry Director, David May, along with Andrew Cartmell, Executive Producer, BBC Studios North and UK Head of Delegation. His song will receive its first radio play on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds in the coming weeks.
The 70th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Vienna, Austria following JJ’s victory in the Grand Final in May 2025 in Basel, Switzerland with their song “Wasted Love”. Last year, the UK was represented by country-pop trio Remember Monday, with their anthem ‘What The Hell Just Happened?’.
The grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 takes place in the Wiener Stadthalle, Vienna, on Saturday 16 May and the semi-finals take place on Tuesday 12 and Thursday 14 May. The grand final and semi-finals will be broadcast live on BBC One and iPlayer plus via BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
