Jannik Sinner dismantled Casper Ruud 6-0, 6-1 in a 64-minute quarter final Masterclass in Rome. The top-seeded Italian overwhelmed the Madrid champion from the beginning of Campo Central, striking with relentless force and precision from both wings to dominate all the time.

Sinner set the tone early, won 16 of the first 18 points and broke Ruud to love in the opening game with a fixed winner from a network cable.

His sharp stretches of land secured a 6-0 first set because Ruud could not find his rhythm and was far from the pace.

Although it finally stayed in 1-2, Norwegian could not the tribe of the sinner when the Italian closed four consecutive matches to seal the victory.

Sinner took Ruud apart in this one and won 68% of the return points and not before a single breaking point in one of the most one -sided matches at this level I have seen in several years.

We saw at the ATP final in Turin that Ruud is canon feed for sinners on something other than a high-supported clay court, and Rome does not play lively, so Norwegian shots just sat right in the track and got the treatment.

Ruud also does not serve smart, in my opinion. It is not easy to keep earning mud, but what he offers is like buffet service – help yourself!

Each of us has one or two opponents, and we fight a little more. I tried to replicate what I have done earlier today on another surface. I hit the ball very well. These conditions … Playing at night against Casper is a little better at my point of view because he can’t get the ball to bounce as much. Everything went my way today. Some nets. Some lines. The match can change quickly … If I did not earn well on 2-1, we are still again. Could have been a gaming exchange. I am happy with how I handled the situation. Sinners on their winnings.

Paul stops Hurgacz

Tommy Paul is back in Rome’s semi-finals thanks to a 7-6 (4), 6-3 Takedown of Hubert Hurgacz on Thursday.

The American surpassed the magnificent Poland in a wild, break-tongue first set before crossing an hour victory in an hour, 58-minute.

Paul, who beat Hurgacz at the same stage last year, has not played much European clay swing, but he has been delivered at Foro Italico.

The first set was a slug party with six breaks, but Paul remained cool after failing to serve it at 5-4 and got the job done in the tie break.

In the second set, after saving a breaking point in its opening service game, Paul broke for 2-0 and carried that advantage to the finish line. He is the better athlete, and when the match carried on he became stronger.

Paul could crack the top 10 with a final look. But he has Jannik Sinner in the way.

Every time I come here I feel at home. The courts match my game really well. I feel comfortable here and I have played some good tennis this week. Both of us returned so well, obviously we would have liked to beat our places better on serving. We kept the pressure in our service games. I thought I would regroup pretty well into the switch and then to the second set. Paul on his profit.
