French Open 2025 Day Ten Recap

Day ten at Roland Garros saw the first two men’s semi -final places, and none of the matches went the distance.

Lorenzo Musetti continued his dream clay season with a compound four-set victory over Frances Tiefoe and grabbed the most important moments late in the third before pushing through the fourth to reach his first Grand Slam semi-finals.

Carlos Alcaraz followed it up with a ruthless demolition of Tommy Paul and released only five games in 94 minutes in a one -sided meeting. The span was locked up from the beginning, and with Paul hindered by injury, it would only ever be a result.

Alcaraz and Musetti will now meet in Friday’s semi -finals in a battle between two of the tour’s most elegant threats. Here is a complete overview of how day ten developed.

Lorenzo Musetti’s exceptional clay season 2025 continued on Tuesday when the 23-year-old Italian secured his first semi-final quay at Roland Garros with a 6-2, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory over Frances Tiafoe.

The Italian was a big game favorite on his way in because he is the stronger clay court and at least made the semi-final at all three Clay Masters 1000 tournaments this spring.

Tiafoe, on the other hand, is more at home on hard drives, and although he has played well in Paris, he has had a pretty friendly draw to get into the last eight.

As expected, Musetti started well, but he had problems, released the second set and must rally from 5-5, 15/30 to keep serving and breaking tiafoe to arrest the control in the third. He then dominated the fourth set and won 81% (61/75) of his first serving points during the match and release only serve once.

I don’t think it was Musetti’s best match in two weeks so far, but he played enough solid, and Tiafoe looked tired towards the end, as in the third, he stopped moving.

I also thought the American looked a bit lacking in parts. I know he is hardly considered a master tactic or someone who stays locked up all the time, but he seemed pretty negative out there.

The third set was crucial. Frances did not start as he wanted, I think, but today was complicated to play well. It was so windy and challenging to handle the balls properly. Especially the third set was a struggle and it was not easy to take a break. I was a little tired and it was hard for me to stay there, but I found the extra energy to win [third] Set, and the last set was definitely my best set of the match. Musetti on its winnings.

Finally, there was a moment when Musetti kicked a ball that hit the line on the chest and received a warning for it. Is it a standard? If you compare it to Djokovic’s standard on the US Open for a few years back, there is a very small difference …

Carlos Alcaraz had a short evening work on the Court Phillipe Chatrier and surpassed Tommy Paul 6-0, 6-1, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals for the third year in a row.

Matches between the couple are usually nearby shops, but Paul was not at the competitions tonight when an abdominal injury prevented him and he could not find his rhythm and hit only 13 winners all the time.

Alcaraz, on the other hand, was in top form, shot 32 winners and won 88% behind his first serving. It is not easy to play against an opponent who does not work at his usual level, but rather than letting Paul in the match, Alcaraz played ruthlessly all the time and completed his victory in just 94 minutes, which sets him nice for the semi -final against Musetti on Friday.

I could close my eyes and everything went in. My feeling today was incredible. I tried to hit every 100 percent shot, not thought of anything else, but just beat. Today was one of these matches when everything just went in. Alcaraz on his win.
