Daniel Radcliffe stars in Every Brilliant Thing on Broadway

Daniel Radcliffe will return to Broadway, this time starring in the one-man play Every brilliant thing.

Currently performed by Minnie Driver in @sohoplace in the West End, the play will transfer to Broadway early next year. This follows a rotation of guest stars in London including Lenny Henry, Ambika Mod and Sue Perkins. The Broadway engagement will run at the Hudson Theatre, New York, from February 21 to May 24, 2026.

Written by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe, Every brilliant thing is the story of a child who makes a list of joys in life for his mother who struggles with depression. The play explores themes of mental health, love and resilience and takes place over decades and is a unique piece of theater that includes several of the audience. The Broadway run will be directed by Duncan alongside Jeremy Herrin.

Speaking about the show, Duncan said: “Every brilliant thing deals with some serious subject matter, but the overall experience is one of joy and celebration. Each performance is unique and unpredictable, and it demands virtuoso skill from its central performer.”

Of Daniel’s involvement, Duncan added: “He has the intelligence, wit and charm to roll with the spontaneous moments that the show invites – he can be a clown one minute and tug at your heartstrings the next. He has tremendous depth and humanity. I can’t wait to get started.”

Every brilliant thing is designed by Vicki Mortimer, with lighting design by Jack Knowles and sound design by Tom Gibbons. It is produced on Broadway by Second Half Productions, Seaview and Gavin Kalin Productions. The production is presented in collaboration with Paines Plow.
