Written by Cole Escola and directed by Sam Pinkleton, Oh, Mary! is a dark comedy that tells the story of Mary Todd Lincoln, a bored alcoholic wife who longs to return to the stage as a cabaret star, but instead is constantly undermined by her gay husband, who just happens to be Abraham Lincoln, the President of the United States.
Oh, Mary! first opened on Broadway in July 2024 at the Lyceum Theatre, becoming the first show of the 2024/25 Broadway season to recoup its investment. The series was nominated for five Tony Awards, winning Best Director of a Play as well as Best Actor in a Play for Cole Escola, the first non-binary winner in the category.
