A stretch of Boulder Highway will be closed overnight this week to accommodate crews as they implode the Eastside Cannery hotel tower.
The temporary closure of Boulder Highway will be between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday, between Harmon Avenue and Sun Valley Drive, the Nevada Department of Transportation announced Monday.
“A detour will be in place with law enforcement and temporary traffic control in place,” NDOT spokeswoman Kelsey McFarland said in a statement.
The implosion of the hotel, which has been closed since the 2020 covid-19 pandemic, will occur at 2am on Thursday.
There are no public viewing areas for the implosion, according to Eastside Cannery owner Boyd Gaming.
