Day six of the 2025 Nitto ATP Finals locked in the perfect semi-final line-up as Jannik Sinner and Felix Auger-Aliassime both secured their places in the last four with straight sets victories.
Sinner continued his dominance indoors by dispatching Ben Shelton to complete a perfect 3–0 in the Bjorn Borg Group, while Auger-Aliassime completed a remarkable turnaround to beat Alexander Zverev and reach the semi-finals for the first time.
The results mean Sinner and Alcaraz avoid each other in the semi-finals and it’s hard to see anything other than a Sincaraz showdown on Sunday.
Nitto ATP Finals 2025 Results Day 6
| Winner | Loser | Score line |
|---|---|---|
| Jannik Sinner (2) | Ben Shelton (5) | 6-3 7-6(3) |
| Felix Auger-Aliassime (8) | Alexander Zverev (3) | 6-4 7-6(4) |
Jannik Sinner (2) def. Ben Shelton (5) 6-3 7-6(3)

Jannik Sinner hit a perfect 3-0 round-robin at the 2025 Nitto ATP Finals with a 6-3, 7-6(3) victory over Ben Shelton in Turin on Friday, extending his indoor winning streak to 29 matches and ending the American’s debut campaign.
Sinner was already qualified, so all he was really playing for was keeping up the momentum and the extra money on offer for a round robin win (and the potential for the undefeated champion prize), so he wasn’t at his best but his serve looks to have come on leaps and bounds since the USO and he faced just one break point.
Important match highlights:
First set (6-3, 38 minutes): Sinner overcame an up-and-down serve to break Shelton halfway, taking advantage of the debutant’s nervous start. The Italian absorbed early pressure and closed effectively.
Second set (7-6(3), 52 minutes): Shelton stepped up with explosive serving, dropping just two of 18 service points through the first nine games and saving a match point at 4-5. But Sinner dominated the tie-break with clean net efforts and won 7-3 after a series of winners. He improved to 8-1 in their head-to-head (eighth straight win).
Quote after match (Sinners):
When you come here and win all three round-robin games, you have to play at a very high level, which I have done. Serving very well in important moments has brought me to this point. It was a very special day to play in front of the home crowd, and against Ben it’s always a tough challenge. When he comes with a huge serve, you can’t do much, so you have to accept it. My mental aspect [has been] good so far, so let’s see what comes next. Sensing his gain.
Broader context:
- Match length: 1 hour, 30 minutes.
- Eighth in a row Nine ATP Finals wins without dropping a set; tops Björn Borg Group.
- Potential blockbuster finale against Alcaraz if both advance (Alcaraz already No. 1).
- Next: Saturday SF vs Alex de Minaur.

Highlights
Felix Auger-Aliassime (8) def. Alexander Zverev (3) 6-4 7-6(4)

Felix Auger-Aliassime completed a stunning group stage turnaround with a 6-4, 7-6(4) victory over Alexander Zverev in Turin on Friday night, securing second place in the Björn Borg Group behind Jannik Sinner and progressing to the semi-finals for the first time.
After his injury problems against Sinner, I wasn’t even sure Felix would play any further role in the event, but he has back-to-back wins and is in the last four.
As for Zverev, he played like a guy who knew he wasn’t going to beat Alcaraz in Saturday’s semifinal, and his entire game lacked conviction. Lots of fine points but when it came down to it his powder puff forehand was his choice and it again proved costly.
Important match highlights:
First set (6-4, 48 minutes): Auger-Aliassime withstood Zverev’s pressure, saving break points at 30/40 in the fifth and ninth games. He broke in the 10th at 5-4 and earned four set points from 0/40; Zverev saved three, but a stunning forehand on the fourth sealed the opener.
Second set (7-6(4), 79 minutes): Both players faltered on consistency, with Zverev bringing frustration to his team and Auger-Aliassime missing three earlier break point chances. In the tie-break, the Canadian earned consecutive mini-breaks from 4/5 via Zverev errors to close out the decider. Zverev now leads their head-to-head 6-4 overall, but Auger-Aliassime sweeps 2025 (also US Open R3 win).
Post-match context:
- Match length: 2 hours, 7 minutes.
- 50th win at tour level by 2025; second Canadian in ATP Finals SFs (after Milos Raonic, 2016).
- Chasing fourth title of the season (Adelaide, Montpellier, Brussels); Tour-leading 85 indoor wins since 2020 (5 ahead of Sinner).
Quote after match (Auger-Aliassime):
This is a high value tournament for players. It’s like a grand final and when you look at the list of champions, there have been a lot of No. 1s. You want to be in the final but I have to go through a great player to do that. I’ll take my chance if I have it. It was a great first set. He had a few chances but I came up with big serves to save them. The first set was very solid and so was the start of the second set. I had many chances. When that happens you have to focus on the moment but you are aware of missed opportunities, so the match got a bit tense from that moment. But I was able to hold serve and in the tie-break it was tight until the end. Auger-Aliassime on his win.
Broader context:
- Auger-Also (2-1) tops Zverev (1-2) for SF spot; Shelton (0-3) struck out.
- Next: Saturday SF vs Carlos Alcaraz (top seed, 3-0 in group).
