Ariana Grande, Jessica Lange and “American Horror Story” veterans reunite for season 13

The acclaimed anthology series American Horror Story officially rolls into its 13th season with a high-voltage reveal. The announcement, which was shared on Halloween via a video post from creator Ryan Murphy, confirmed that Ariana Grande was making her first appearance in the franchise – alongside returning stalwarts including Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe and Leslie Grossman.

The teaser video sets the tone with Vera Lynn’s “I’ll Be Seeing You” playing over the cast’s names flashing on screen, culminating in Emma Roberts’ classic line from the Coven season: “Surprise, dear. I bet you thought you’d seen the last of me.” The Halloween timing of the announcement also serves as a clue: the season is slated to premiere on Halloween 2026.

Ariana Grande’s inclusion marks a reunion with Ryan Murphy and co-creator Brad Falchuk following her role in their horror comedy series Scream Queens. Meanwhile, Lange’s return is particularly striking because she previously publicly said she would not be returning to the franchise. The announcement of her inclusion sent fans into a frenzy on social media, celebrating their favorite star’s long-awaited return to the silver screen.

This season’s heavy cast has fueled speculation that Season 13 might revisit past storylines — particularly Season 3’s Coven or Season 8’s crossover episode Apocalypse. The franchise has a history of reviving characters and arcs in unexpected ways. While plot details remain under wraps, the scale of the cast suggests a big chapter for the Fanthology. For now, fans have reason to sharpen their senses. Next part of American Horror Story promises to be cool, stylish and loaded with familiar faces – and new ones.
