In the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Alicia Keys’ ‘Unplugged’The MTV has announced plans to broadcast the legendary concert over its US and international channels until October 12, 2025.
Recorded Live on July 4, 2005, at Brooklyn Academy of Music, Marked Key’s first live recording and remains one of the most memorable moments in MTV’s connected history. When it was released it became the first MTV coupled album by a female artist that debut at No. 1 on Billboard 200 and achieved the highest debut for one ‘Unplugged’ Then performance Nirvana’s 1994 session. The acclaimed album continued to earn a Grammy nomination of Best R&B album.
To highlight the album’s upcoming anniversary, Key’s fans treated a special Encore series Performance at Broadways Shubert Theater, home for his Tony-award-winning musical Hell’s Kitchen. The set included fan favorites, especially ‘Unbreakable’ From her chart-tip ‘MTV Unplugged’ album.
To further celebrate the milestone, And all over the world and Arvine gigsthe directory department of Sony Music EntertainmentHave also released ‘Unplugged 20 anniversary’ -En Deluxe 2-LP Black Vinyl Edition by Alicia Keys landmark MTV coupled performance. Now this special edition celebrates two decades since the intimate concert recorded on July 4, 2005 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
In a Throwback tribute, Keys took to Jungle City Studios in New York City to re -form three fan favorites from the concert in Intimate ‘Unplugged20 sessions’ performances. The performances can be seen on Youtube now.
