Aaron Rodgers has run out of teams with start -quarterback openings.
Seattle Seahawks scooped up Sam Darnold, and Las Vegas Raiders traded for Geno Smith.
New York Jets – Rodger’s former employer – chose Justin Fields.
Funny to think that Darnold and Smith once were flops with jets. It seems we can put Rodgers in that category also because of his 5-12 record with the team last season and the new brass that decides to share roads.
Will not keep Rodgers responsible for 2023, when he tore his Achilles on the fourth snap of the season. But last season’s inability is all his.
It seems forever since Rodgers was NFL etc. both 2020 and 2021. But skills can quickly decrease when you turn 39, 40 and now 41.
If you sign Rodgers, you can’t expect his Four-Time League MVP form. You should also not dream of getting the guy who threw for 40 or more touchdowns on three occasions.
You have to accept a minor form and hope that Rodger’s personality fits into your team. His personality was not always impressive with jets.
So rumors that Pittsburgh Steelers are interested in Rodgers capturing your attention really quickly.
Steelers has a coach in Mike Tomlin who enters his 19th season who runs the team.
For the most part, Tomlin’s methods are fantastic, and he has been very successful with a record of 183-107-2.
He is a no-nonsense coach, a sticker for details, and he expects things to be done in his own way.
Rodgers don’t always fall in line with it. Think of every time he criticized Jets during his short term.
Now picture Tomlin’s head that spins around like an entertainment trip if Rodgers rips the Pittsburgh crime on any TV show.
But here is Tomlins dilemma – he has lost six straight playoffs, which starts with a setback to the New England Patriots in the 2016 season AFC Championship Game.
Last season’s Steelers were 10-3 before collapsing with Russell Wilson running the show. They lost their last four games with regular season and were then eliminated by Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Wild-Card game.
Wilson (16) and the above -mentioned fields (five) combined for 21 touchdown passes. A healthy and motivated Rodgers should be able to exceed that production.
All eight of Tomlin’s playoff victory came when he had a first -class quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger. So you can see the need for a quarterback like Rodgers, because Playoff Victory Torks is eight seasons old.
It has been Scuttlebutt that New York Giants can be an option for Rodgers.
It would be juicy for the people in Gotham, to have Rodgers to play at the same stadium as last season.
Giants has the No. 3 choice in the NFL draft, and they can choose their quarterback of the future and make Rodgers be their guy this season. Or they couldn’t choose a quarterback at all and maybe connects Rodgers to play two seasons.
Miami’s Cam Ward figures should be gone when Giants chooses, but it is possible that Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders will be available on No. 3.
Sanders has his own attitude problems, and he happens to have thrown 503 fewer NFL -Touchdown -passes than Rodgers.
New York coach Brian Daboll probably needs a quarterback that can win games after last season’s 3-14 debake.
The organization made the right call by ending the Daniel Jones era, but there is not a Bona Fide starter at the moment in the squad.
Rodgers could go right when the starter and basically call their pictures about many things, with Daboll’s future unclear.
Minnesota Vikings rating as a narrow alternative after Darnold’s departure. Their decision revolves around health in last year’s first draft of elections, JJ McCarthy.
If the Vikings are sold, McCarthy will be healthy – and, um, that he is ready to play well – they have no need for Rodgers.
But if they have doubts, they can make a call to Rodgers and pitch as a year of rent.
The only other option is that Rodgers retire. No one sees it happens, because Rodgers seems motivated to have a better season before hanging up the clothes.
