The New York Yankees Reliever Scott Effross will be on the side for a longer period with a class 2 -left Hamstringstam, said manager Aaron Boone Thursday.
The right -hander’s latest injury is “will take some time” to heal before he can return to Haugen, Boone told reporters in Tampa, FLA.
Effross, 31, was deducted from Tuesday’s spring training game against Minnesota Twins after throwing a pitch in the eighth round. He got a platelet -rich plasma injection (PRP) on Thursday.
He missed all season in 2023 after Tommy John operation and was limited to just three performances in 2024 due to a back injury.
Effross is 3-5 with a 2.89 era and four rescues in 77 matches (one start) with Chicago Cubs (2021-22) and Yankees (2022, 2024).
