Falcons promotes TJ Yates to passing gaming coordinator

Atlanta Falcons promoted TJ Yates to the role of passing gaming coordinator and DJ Williams to Quarterbacks coach on Thursday.

Yates, a former NFL -quarterback, served as the team’s primary position coach and Williams as an offensive assistant/assistant Quarterback’s coach during the 2024 season.

Yates has been with Falcon’s coaching personnel since 2021 when he was hired as a passing game specialist. He was promoted to the recipient trainer in 2022.

Yates was a fifth round of Houston in 2011 and threw for 2,057 meters and 10 touchdowns in 22 career games (10 starts) with Texans, Falcons and Miami Dolphins.

Yates also spent two seasons as an offensive assistant with the Texans and was promoted to assistant QB coach 2020.

Williams spent his previous five seasons (2019-23) as an offensive assistant with New Orleans Saints.
