SOMBR Returns With Vulnerable New Single 'My Body Isn't Ready'

GRAMMY-nominated breakout artist SHADOW has released his latest single, “My body is not ready” along with an official music video directed by Gus Black. Coming via Warner Records, the song marks another deeply personal chapter for the 20-year-old singer-songwriter, who continues to build momentum following the success of his breakthrough debut album I BARELY KNOW HER.

Written and co-produced entirely by SOMBR, “My Body Isn’t Ready” confronts themes of body image, self-worth, and the struggle to feel comfortable in one’s own skin. Rather than shying away from uncertainty, the song embraces it with striking honesty, pairing intimate storytelling with the emotional songwriting that has become the artist’s signature.

“‘My Body’s Not Ready’ finds me at my most vulnerable. It’s about confronting the parts of yourself that you wish you could change, and learning to sit with those feelings instead of hiding from them,” SOMBR shared.

The release kicks off a busy week for the New York native. Tonight he makes his debut as both a musical and an interview guest The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonwhere he is set to perform the new single.

Fans can also expect the announcement of a surprise free New York concert tomorrow before SOMBR launches its North American You Are The Reason Arena Tour on July 22. The run will feature support on select dates from Interpol, The Last Dinner Party, Tom Odell, Dove Cameron, Balu Brigada, King Princess, The Hellp and Hannah Jadagu.
