A longtime Las Vegas attorney will become vice president and general counsel of Red Rock Resorts later this year.
The firm announced Friday that J. Colby Williams, a founder of the boutique litigation firm Campbell & Williams, will take over for the retiring Jeffrey Welch in September.
Welch will continue to provide transition support to the company that operates Station Casinos from Williams’ start date of September 8th through December 31st.

During his more than 30-year career, he has handled a large number of precedent-setting cases in the areas of complex commercial litigation, high-stakes administrative proceedings, catastrophic personal injury and First Amendment law. In that role, Williams has worked closely with the company’s management team and legal department for two decades.
In addition to numerous other honors and awards, Williams has held an AV “Preeminent” rating for two decades, which is the highest rating for legal skill and ethical practice designated by Martindale-Hubbell. In March 2025, Williams was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers, an honor reserved for the top percent of trial lawyers in the country.
Williams holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona and a law degree from Arizona State University. He has lived in Las Vegas for more than 30 years.
Red Rock Resorts is the parent company of Station Casinos, which operates Red Rock Resort, Green Valley Ranch, Palace Station, Boulder Station, Sunset Station and Santa Fe Station in the Las Vegas Valley.
