Station Casinos brought in employees from its other properties to assist its staff at Red Rock Resort when a power outage blacked out the casino for four to five hours Friday afternoon.
A company spokesman said late Friday that a circuit breaker tripped, resulting in a power outage to the 20-year-old, 796-room Summerlin casino property.
Players at the site said on social media that casino staff were hand-paying winnings to players.
Officials are investigating the cause of the outage, which began at noon and lasted until nearly 5 p.m.
A company representative said no one was injured in the incident, but the outage resulted in slot machines going dark and payments being made manually.
“We had all hands on deck in the building just trying to make it as seamless as possible, given the challenges we faced when the power was out,” the station’s spokesman said.
To assist during the blackout, employees from other Station Casino properties were brought to Red Rock to assist.
The spokesman said the concert with American singer-songwriter Tyler Hubbard on Friday night at The Sandbar will be performed as scheduled.
“We have a concert tonight so we don’t expect any problems with the show,” the spokesman said.
The spokesman said station staff are trained to deal with emergencies and were prepared for the incident.
Having a system in place to call in employees from other properties eased the potentially stressful situation.
“That’s the advantage of having the corporate network and all the team members are all willing to dive in.”
