Louis Tomlinson releases expanded edition of hit No.1 album 'How Did I Get Here?'

Still riding the wave of accolades from his last era, Louis Tomlinson returns this week with a special extended edition of his UK No.1 album “How did I get here?”and offers fans a deeper insight into a record that has cemented his solo career and continued development as an artist.

Available now on all major digital platforms, the expanded edition of the life-affirming disc collects the original “How did I get here?” tracklist with an additional nine songs previously only available via physical releases or limited-time digital downloads, giving fans a fuller, more complete version of the project.

Among the prominent additions are “The Observer” and “The Answer”both of which have already taken on a life of their own as key moments in Louis How did we get here? World tour setlist. The global competition began in March in Hamburg and will continue until October, spanning more than 50 dates in Europe, the US and Australia. On stage, the new songs have quickly become live highlights and fan favourites, and now for the first time they are available to stream as part of the extended release.

As an extra gift to fans, Louis has also released a special live performance video for “Sunflowers”captured during the European leg of his recent tour. The film comes as a tribute to the extended album’s release, offering an intimate snapshot of the song in its live setting and highlighting the energy and connection that has defined the shows to date.

Works as a sequel to 2022 “Faith In The Future” – which also debuted at number 1 on the Official UK Albums Chart – “How did I get here?” has had a big impact since it was released in January.

Co-produced with Nico Rebscher (Macklemore) and partially created during a three-week retreat in Costa Rica, allowing Tomlinson to soak up natural inspiration, the record sees Louis push himself as a lyricist, songwriter and performer, holding nothing back – much to the delight of old and new fans alike!

By commenting on the personal and creative significance of the project during the time of its release “Just Hang On” the singer said: “I sum up the project as “the record I always deserved to make”. My bread and butter is honesty. I really wear my heart on my sleeve, and I hope that comes through in the music. I’m still learning and getting better as a singer and songwriter. I find it impossible to be complacent; it’s not in my vocabulary. For the first time now, I am allowing myself to be the artist I had always hoped to be.”

Tomlinson’s tonight How did we get here? Tour roll into Brighton, ahead of their sell-out show at The O2 in London on May 3. Later in the month he will perform as one of Saturday’s headliners at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Sunderland.
