Las Vegas locals get free pool cabanas at the Palms casino resort | Tourism

An off-Strip casino will open its pool for the 2026 season next month, and locals will have priority access to its luxury amenities before the summer crowds arrive.

Palms casino opens its pool on March 16. The resort will offer free cabanas to Las Vegas residents through April 30, with the exception of March 19 to 22 during its annual Basketball Bonanza viewing parties.

Starting May 1, the free cabanas at the Palms Pool will be available Sunday through Friday.

The Palms, an off-Strip resort owned by the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority, describes the promotion as part of a broader effort to attract local customers with low-pressure amenities and fewer fees than many Strip properties. Managers are positioning the space as an alternative to the city’s high-energy day clubs.

“Palms Pool has always been about creating a pool experience that feels accessible, fun and genuinely welcoming — especially for locals,” Crystal Robinson-Wesley, vice president of marketing and entertainment for Palms Casino Resort, said in a statement. “Launching the season with free cabanas seven days a week is our way of saying thank you to the local community and giving them an easy way to enjoy a premium pool day without the hassle or high price tag.”

The Palms has leaned heavily on a locals-first strategy since reopening under tribal ownership in 2022, positioning itself as a less expensive alternative to many Strip resorts.
