Comic Relief has kicked off its 2026 Red Nose Day campaign with a spectacular public display of some of the country’s most embarrassing and terrifying ‘best worst photos’ of the country’s beloved celebrities.
Projected onto the iconic Battersea Power Station, this display marks the official launch of this year’s Take Yourself Funny For Money campaign. This harnesses the nation’s love of self-deprecating British humor to encourage everyone to embrace their silliest selves to raise vital funds to help more people eat, sleep and feel safe.
Some of the celebrities who shared their “Best Worst Photos” include Mirranda Hart, Claudia Winkleman, Davina McCall, GK Barry, Jamie Oliver, JB Gill, Big Zuu, Rosie Ramsey, Joel Dommett, La Voix, Rosie Jones, Eddie Kadi and Asim Chaudry. The public is now encouraged to join in the fun by sharing their own “Best Worst Photos” on social media using #BestWorstPhoto @comicrelief!

Speaking about taking part in the campaign, Miranda Hart said: “When Comic Relief asked me to submit my ‘best worst photo’ to be projected at Battersea Power Station, as part of the Red Nose Day celebrations, I knew straight away what I had to do… To see myself in my primary school days looking half choirboy and half sort of aging monk, with my amazing 70s bowl EXACTLY what I’m glad the nation always needs…. embarrassing if it gets a giggle, and that liberating others to do the same, and even more so when it’s part of Comic Relief’s mission to help people struggling with the most basic things – to eat regularly, sleep safely and live without fear.”
“I hope everyone can feel free to embrace their silliest, most awkward selves to help change lives. It’s very liberating! Share your goofy photos with #BästaVärstaPhoto and #TakeSelvFunnyForMoney.”
It sets the tone for turning laughs into serious good ahead of Red Nose Day, which takes place on Friday 20 March. The money raised this Red Nose Day will help people with the basics everyone is entitled to – food, shelter and safety. It’s time to take things a little less seriously and have fun instead, and do something silly to raise money and awareness!
