Paris Masters 2025 Day 6 Semi Final Recap

The semi-finals at the 2025 Paris Masters took place on Saturday, with the top two indoor players facing off in Sunday’s showdown.

Felix Auger-Aliassime held his nerve in a tight opener before storming back from 1–4 down in the second set to defeat Alexander Bublik and reach his second Masters 1000 final, moving into the final Turin qualifying spot in the process.

Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner hardly broke a sweat when he flattened a clearly inhibited Alexander Zverev 6-0, 6-1 in just over an hour. The Italian was ruthless from start to finish, extending his indoor winning streak to 25 matches and moving within one win of reclaiming the world No.1 ranking.

FAA has been quietly building momentum all week, serving superbly and showing the kind of belief that has been missing for a couple of seasons, and he looks like a different player on indoor courts while Sinner looks untouchable when his game and body are in harmony.

Felix Auger-Aliassime def. Alexander Bublik 7-6(3), 6-4

Felix Auger-Aliassime stormed into his second ATP Masters 1000 final (after Madrid 2024) with a 7-6(3), 6-4 semi-final victory over Alexander Bublik in 98 minutes on Saturday, pipping Lorenzo Musetti to the final Turin qualifying spot (8:ai Live Race).

Auger-Aliassime snapped a tight first set that did not include a break point by winning six of the last seven points in the tie-break.

In contrast to the first set, the second set featured five breaks of serve: Bublik seemed to have responded well to the disappointment of dropping the first set and the Kazakh built a 4-1 lead, but Auger-Aliassime stormed back with five straight games to go.

The Canadian finished the match with 31 winners, and it’s safe to say he’s one of the best indoor players in the world, given his results over the past few years. He also made a big move in the ATP Live Race To Turin by leapfrogging Musetti into eighth place, and he can wrap up the remaining qualifying spot by lifting the trophy in France on Sunday.

If Sinner wins, he will head into next week’s Moselle Open in Metz with a 160-point lead over Musetti in the Live Race. Musetti will also be in ATP 250 action next week in Athens, so it’s all to play for.

I am so happy. A Masters 1000 final sounds really good. You don’t play those finals every week. Hopefully I can go all the way and get the title. As for today’s and past matches… You come into a Masters, and every match is tough. It’s a 56 draw and it’s stacked. You wake up one day and feel, “This guy is playing well, everyone is playing well”. So you’re always curious and a little nervous to see how your game will match up. I have deep confidence in my game. I know what I can do against the best players in the world, but you still have to go and execute. Today went really well and I’m happy with the result. Felix on his form.

Highlights

Jannik Sinner def. Alexander Zverev 6-0, 6-1

Jannik Sinner advanced to his maiden final at the Rolex Paris Masters after he raced past a physically challenged Alexander Zverev 6-0, 6-1.

I expected a competitive match, with the only question marks being whether the fall had affected Zverev after the adrenaline wore off, and whether the late finish had hampered his recovery.

The answer to the latter was absolutely as he struggled with his movement and looked out of breath at various points, meaning the match was completely one-sided. I don’t think Sascha wins even if he’s at 100% but when he’s way below that it’s a total mismatch.

Sinner is now just 100 points behind Alcaraz in the ATP Live Rankings and would regain the world ranking if he wins the title on Sunday.

He is the favourite, but I like the way FAA is serving at the moment, and if he keeps up the level he showed today, Sinner will not have it easy, and it will be up to Felix to try and push Sinner to his physical limits.

When you lose the physicality like he did, you can’t find the full power on the serve. I’m happy to be in the final, but that’s not how you want to get there. Playing against Sascha is always a special occasion, and today he was clearly not one hundred percent, we saw that. He struggled physically. He won an incredible match yesterday, two match points down… To get to the final in Vienna, come here and get to the semis again, it’s an incredible run, but we all hope he gets better and fit for Turin. Sensing his gain.
