Ghostface is back — and so is the franchise’s original it girl! Paramount Pictures released the first official trailer for Scream 7 this week, confirms Neve Campbell’s long awaited return as Sidney Prescott in what looks to be the most personal chapter in the slasher saga yet.

In the two-minute teaser clip, Ghostface reappears to terrorize a new target – Sidney’s daughter, Tatum — just as the two have settled into a quiet life far from Woodsboro. Prescott won’t fight him alone; Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) joins her to put an end to the terrifying protagonist. “Let’s expose this bastard,” Weathers tells her. Other familiar faces include David Arquette and Matthew Lillard. Tatum eventually comes face to face with the killer, just as he sets the house on fire. “I’m Gonna Burn It All Down” he exclaims.
Campbell’s return is the first time she has stepped back into Sidney’s shoes since 2022 Scream 6. The trailer hints that motherhood has added new emotional stakes, as her daughter becomes the killer’s next target.
Directed by Christopher Landis, Scream 7 promises to bridge the series’ legacy characters with a new generation of survivors. Details remain under wraps, but glimpses of returning cast members and new victims tease yet another stark meta-commentary on horror, fame and survival.
The film opens in theaters February 27, 2026. Judging by the menacing tone of the trailer and Campbell’s commanding return, Ghostface may have just found its deadliest sequel yet.
