Today’s summary

Jannik Sinner Def. Alexander Bublic, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1

Jannik Sinner Rivde 23rd Seed Alexander Bublik 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 in just 1 hour and 23 minutes.

The world # 1 broke eight times and met only one breaking point, using Bublik’s 13 double errors in ten service games played.

I had sinners who won in 3 or 4, but at least I expected one of the sets would be close, but bublic never came close. Before their meeting, Bublic had 55 service games in a row, but he lost his first two at night, and it completely set the tone.

Yes, the Kazak had a tough five-sets in his previous round against Paul, but it is not really an apology, given that you have a day off, and Sinner proved that he is only one level above. Did bublic think what he had to do?

Felix Auger-Aliassime Def. Andrey Rublev, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4

Felix Auger-Aliassime Outclassed 15th Seed Andrey Rublev 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 to maintain its excellent American open form.

The 25th seed fired 42 winners to Rublev 22 and utilized Rublevs Second Set collapse when he dropped serve from 40/0 in Game Six.

I had Rubeev who came through this when he played a little more composed tennis in recent weeks, but instead it was Felix who delivered.

The Canadian has been a bit of a non-factor at the big tournaments, while they recorded some better results at smaller events to maintain their ranking. Still, this week he has found his forehand, succeeded with his backhand and plays safely.

Alex de Minaur Def. Leandro Dilud, 6-3, 6-2, 6-1

Alex de Minaur swept the qualifier Leandro Riedi aside 6-3, 6-2, 6-1 to make its third American open quarter-final look.

The eighth seed always produced relentless defense, and Riedi had no way through and landed 39 unthreatened errors on an hour, 33-minute match.

The Minaur has not been to the radar this tournament and played on the external courts, but he has just lost one set, and when his leg is with him, he is hard to beat.

Lorenzo Musetti Def. Jaume Munar, 6-3, 6-0, 6-1

Lorenzo Musetti crushed Jaume Munar 6-3, 6-0, 6-1 to reach his first hard court for an hour in an hour, 37-minute demolition.

The 10th seed overwhelmed the Spaniard with 25 winners, and I’m not sure what Munnar played out there, because it didn’t look like tennis.

I had Musetti on upset guard when I saw the draw, because after French Open, his season dropped off a cliff, but he has turned it in New York
