Day nine at Wimbledon was developed without much drama, but with lots of quality, when Taylor Fritz and Carlos Alcaraz both moved into the semi -finals easily.
Fritz saw by Karen Khachanov in four sets, produced two dominant opening sets, navigated in a middle of the match and ended the job in a composite tiebreak to reach its first Wimbledon semi -final. The American’s strong grass car form continues, although a taped foot remains something to look at in the future.
At Center Court, Carlos Alcaraz Cameron ended Norrie’s driving with a routine 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 victory. The defending master was clinical from start to finish, which never allowed Brit a foothold in the match when he extended his undefeated row at SW19 to 13.
Here is everything that happened on a simple but decisive day nine.

Fritz conquers Khachanov

Taylor Fritz overcame past Wimbledon quarter final setback on Tuesday and defeated Karen Khachanov 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (4) at No. 1 Court to reach its first SW19 semi-finals.
The American has not done well in his previous attempts. His loss of Rafael Nadal 2022 was particularly disappointing, but he stayed composed in a 2-hour, 36-minute battle.
Fritz controlled the first two sets and kept service without threats, but Khachanov grew back and dominated the third set of five straight matches.
After a medical timeout to pull its right foot, Fritz dropped early in the fourth. But he broke back and had Khachaov on the ropes when he led 5-4, 15-30, with only one clutch volleyball that prevented him from holding two match points.
Khachanov was held; Fritz, however, played a compound tiebreak and avoids another five-set marathon to book its place in Friday’s semi-finals.
Fritz has been one of the scammers during the grass swing with two titles in Stuttgart and Eastbourne and he has played a fantastic tournament with two very tricky players in his first two matches. How big a problem his foot is to see
I feel good to get through it. I feel that the match went so well for me for two sets. I’ve never had a match really just turning so fast, so I’m really happy with how I got back in the fourth set and got it done. I think the momentum would definitely not have been on my side that went into one fifth. He definitely started playing a little better, but I feel I gave him a lot of hope by not playing the best game to start the third set for me. I’ve never really had a match change so drastically, where I felt so in control, played well, earned well. I didn’t feel my serve was in danger, I felt I put all the pressure on his serving and then nowhere did I just start making a ton of mistake. Before I felt I couldn’t miss, and suddenly I make a ton of mistake and he puts all the balls in play. I really just had to fight to get it back in the fourth and just get the match back to neutral. Fritz on his win.

Alcaraz Domantles Norrie

Carlos Alcaraz took a decisive step towards a third straight Wimbledon title on Tuesday and relieved the British Hope Cameron Norrie 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 to secure its place in the semi-finals.
Alcaraz has not had it all the way during his opened three matches, but I struggled to see where Norrie could hurt him other than with his work frequency, and it turned out to be correct when Carlos delivered a clinical 1-hour performance, which deleted all five break points.
In total, he won 89% of the first serving points, met 13 ESS and overwhelmed Norrie, who struggled to surpass the Spaniard from the baseline but could not handle Alcaraz’s all-Around game, which contained 31 Net points, he won 22.
Norrie played lots of decent points and chose the old school left to serve by standing near Doubles Alley but he had to work overtime to win points.
I’m just really happy to be able to play another semi -final here at Wimbledon. It’s something really special and something I wanted to do at the beginning of the week. I am really happy with the level I played today against a difficult player like Cam. I’m pretty sure there is no one working harder than him, so I’m glad to see him play such matches Alcaraz on his win.
