Acclaimed drama off-broadway “Daniel’s man” is intended to make its long -awaited UK’s premiere this winter, with limited driving on the London Marybone Theater from December 4, 2025 to January 10, 2026. Directed by Alan SouzaProduction marks debut London excursion for plastered productions, with a national press evening scheduled for December 9, 2025.
Written by American playwright Michael McKeever“Daniel’s husband” has already received critical praise of the United States since the 2015 premiere at the Island City Stage in Florida, where it collected three Carbonell prizes, including the best new work. The game continued with remarkable off-Broadway runs at New York’s Cherry Lane Theater and Westside Theater upstairs, earned a nomination of the Off-Broadway Alliance Award and built a loyal audience that follows.
In its core, the piece delivers an arrest, intricate layered and emotionally resonant exploration of love, commitment and the legal and social structures that shape them. It centers on Daniel and Mitchell, a seemingly image-perfect couple who lives an enviable life characterized by success, intimacy and stability-to-be upwardly by an unexpected crisis that forces them to reconsider not just their future, but their deepest beliefs about marriage and what it really means to be a family.

Described as both “a humanistic parable” and “a convincing polemic for marriage” by director Alan Souza, the piece gives no simple answers. “It challenges the audience in a significant way,” Souza noted. “Daniel’s husband urges us to confront and evaluate our most personal ideas about what the family means.”
The upcoming London disc setting brings together a experienced creative team, including Lee Newby on set and costume design, lighting of Jamie flat and sound design from Sarah Weltman. Casting is monitored by Arthur Carrington, with general management handled by James Steel Productions and Production Management by Charlie Rayner at Production Solutions Group. Visuals and works of art for production come from Steph Pyne Design.
As its first major excursion in London, plastered productions have chosen “Daniel’s husband” for his layered emotional narrative and fast themes. The company, known for producing socially committed theater, sees the piece as a suitable launch and aims to get conversations about love, marriage and the choices that people encounter when confronted with life change decisions.
