After seven long years, three children, a historical Grammy win and countless headlines, Cardi b Officially goes back into the limelight. The Bronx -born rapper has announced his long -awaited second album, Am I the drama?, Set to release on September 19 via Atlantic Records.
The follow -up of her blockbuster debut 2018 Invasion of integrity—We went four -level platinum and made her the first solo -female rapper who won Grammy for best rap album – has been eagerly expected for several years. Cardi B has often teased the new project, indicating delays, almost supplements and varying timelines. But this time it is official: the album cover, the release date and the pre -order link are all live.
Cardi B revealed the album with a theatrical teaser video published on her social media on June 23. In the short clip, she is shown in a floating black dress, surrounded by swirling (fake) ravens, when she delivers a powerful voiceover that announces the arrival of her next era. The monologue, delivered with characteristic intensity, sets the tone for transformation and retaliation and hints into themes that will probably shape the upcoming post:
“Seven years and time has come. Seven years of love, life and loss. Seven years I gave them grace, but now I give them hell. I didn’t learn power.
While the teaser lays the foundation, the cover art confirmed the vision with striking clarity. The official album artwork has Cardi B draped in a striking blood -red bodysuit and high platform heels, with a raven lying on the foot as more swirl above. The recurring motifs of black feathers and crows anchor the album’s visual identity and induce themes of revenge, reinforcement, raw power and ascent. Together, the visual one suggests an artist who not only returns-without recurring, unpologist and elevated, who enters a darker, more leading chapter in her career.
Am I drama? Will contain 23 tracks, including fan favorites such as “Up”, Viral Smash “Wap” with Megan Ye Stallion, and her latest single “Outside”, which Cardi premiered at the Cannes Lions festival last week. The fiery track, produced by Charlie Heat and DJ Swanqo, has already led to headlines for her sharp texts that refer to her ex-make-offset and named her current partner, NFL wide recipient Stefon Diggs.

While Cardi B has remained musically active in recent years, collaborated with artists such as Lizzo, Bruno Mars, Rosalía and Kanye West-Har has long been waiting for a full length follow-up when hype around a second album began as early as 2020’s “WAP”, but a complete project that never materialized now.
In a 2024 Rolling Stone Cover story, Cardi B revealed that she was aiming for a release that year, still completed Intro, some more songs and the roll -out strategy. “I’m another person every day,” she admitted then. “I want to make club records, pop records, songs to cry for, songs to scream.” The emotional spectrum – shaped by motherhood, heart damage, fame and the pressure of surpassing her successful debut record, clearly informs her new working group.
Now 32, Cardi B comes into the next era not only as a top-top artist, but as a mother of three, a cultural lightning bar and a woman who, through her own explanation, plays nicely. When she finishes in her teaser: “I’m not your villain, I’m your karma. I’m not back – I’m beyond.”
Am I drama? Is now available for pre -order and officially drops on September 19. If Cardi’s message is any indication, this is not just a comeback – it’s a bill.
